The Accidental Nail Tech

So I suppose it’s not an unfair question, how does anyone accidentally become a nail technician?

Well, the short answer is impulse spending caused by AuDHD and my desire to support my autistic daughter. In her dreams of becoming a nail tech.

I booked her a course and a hotel, she was too nervous to go, they wouldn’t let me go with her so I went… feck it and paid too. I also passed the course, got addicted to spending money on a fabulous British alternative beauty brand called Nailchemy, and the rest is really just a bunch of pipe dreams and questionable decisions.

But here I am.

I have a lovely set up at home for family and close friends, and an exciting new venture in a friends new salon as a Saturday nail tech. I have no intention of giving up the day job in publishing, but as more and more people wanted to pay for my work and art, I took the decision that I needed to register as a sole trader. I’m a compulsive rule follower so the idea of cash in hand is like right up there with kicking small children level of horror to my mind.

So what will I be offering?

To start with nail art and simple designs builder, fibre gel and straight gel. It is all things goth and alternative, whether that’s blood red talons for you corpos out there, pastels with skulls or just classics black. I’ve got you.

I can also offer full cover tip extensions if that’s your jam or short and not-sweet.

I also am always learning and I have some study time booked in to work on my acrylic game and plan to offer goth extensions too before the end of the year.

I am fully insured and everything I use is disposable.
