Avoiding serious injury with EPP

Have you tried EPP (English Paper Piecing)? I love it, it’s the pinacle of slow stitching, and amongst fellow crafters you will never meet anyone who hasn’t started and abandoned at least one hexi quilt, but recently I’ve been addicted to this glorious pattern called Smitten, linked below.

Ok, so I treated myself to this Trimmits folding ironing and cutting board… well I was trying to get the same thing my mum bought, which was this cute little fold out work station with a piecing and design board too as a 4/1 item and of course I saw something similar but bigger and I bought it.

Where my mum’s is cute and great for quilting on the go mines is massive. I had to make a new tote just to carry it and it weighs more than a small child

So many regrets however it is lovely and useful just big and heavy

So I’m quilting at night, falling asleep on the couch as I’m want to do. I move my legs onto the couch half asleep, eyes closing and then…

pain like a velociraptor using my leg as a chew toy as I have impaled myself with my horrifically sharp sewing scissors directly into my Achilles’ tendon.

The pain was blinding even worse as I had to remove the inch of metal from my own body, blood, cursing and kids decorated sticking plasters oh and a lot of swelling in my right foot two days before I’m due to drive to Orkney. Just marvellous

Of course absolutely no work can be done when this one had decided to plonk it’s bum on the mat. She hates knee sitting…. Don’t mistake this for her being cute, this is war
